Borostimát

(Redirected from Borost:Borostímat)

Borostimát, literally "Speech of the Borostím," is a the primary language of the Borostím throughout Borost and all adjacent areas.

Borostimát, developed under the rule of Tavres Ilsím, has been spoken among the Borostím for millennia. The language, highly ordered and standardized, has changed little during this time. For this reason, the Borostím may well be the only race of which all members can freely converse with each other.

Grammatical rules[edit | edit source]

Accents[edit | edit source]

Accents figure prominently in Borostimát, and are marked by a ´. This accent is placed in the vowel pertaining to the accented syllable. For monosyllabic words, the accent, of course, occurs in the only syllable of the word. The rules vary for words with two or more syllables. The accents in such words are assumed to be in the first syllable unless there is an accent on another syllable (e.g. Ilsím).
