In more recent times, a small number of dark elves and other inhabitants of Borost have embraced some of its tenets. Nonetheless, its rapid expansion through Borost has given rise to much heterodoxy and heteropraxy. In the present, numerous schisms and heresies have sundered the Faith of Kel.

History

Inception

The Faith of Kel arose from Ouwestad, where it is believed Kel first spoke to the prophet Tult Mundzaleft, who thus wrote the Book of Kel.

Dwaerkar ascendancy

The Faith of Kel and the Ascendancy of the Dwaerkar are intricately related. Specifically, political theorists and sociologists argue that the zealous missionary ideals of the Faith of Kel brought about the War of Ÿphergund. The Dwaerkar, who wished to see its expansion across the land, toppled the realm of the Borostím to catalyze the growth of the Faith.

Fatherhood

The Faith has been expanded to the Borostím population of the land since the rise of the Dwaerkar, as the principal component of the Fatherhood. Many have accepted this Faith, but the majority of the Borostím population remains attached to its old ways.

Arts of Kel

The Arts of Kel are the various spatial manifestations of Kel's power revered by the Faith.

The manipulation of the Skeleton of the World, Magic, is numbered the greatest of the Arts of Kel.

Use of sorceries

The use of sorcery is banned by the Faith of Kel. Sorceries, according to the adherents of this religion, represent a gross misuse of Magic, one of the Arts of Kel. As Kel founded the world with the use of Magic for constructive purposes, the use of Magic for destructive purposes is tantamount to insurrection against Kel, for which reason it is numbered among the vilest of heresies.

Demographics in Borost

The Faith is primarily practiced by the Dwaerkar. However, a small amount of the Borostím have converted to this new faith.

Schisms and new sects

Telianism

Telianism, named after the Telian points, is a heresy of the Faith of Kel. Its primary point of divergence can be summarized with their assertion that Sorceries and sorcerous practices are not tantamount to representing a corruption of the Arts of Kel.

Strands

The Strands is a term that encapsulates the Ickean heresy, which argues that Kel is not a lonely God, but is surrounded by other divine essences — which Mezt Icken calls Strands. Icken has been formally excommunicated by the Kelian Magisterium.
