Brockt Kuuldent, who originally posited his Dictum in his treatise On the Goal of Life.

The Kuuldent dictum, also known as the Kuuldent picture, and formerly known as the Kuuldent hypothesis (not to be confused with the modern Kuuldent hypothesis), is a central position in natural philosophy concerning the behavior of sapient and nonsapient organisms.

It can be summarized as follows: "The goal of all sapient and nonsapient life is to assure the existence of future generations of the same species by achieving the means to survive long enough in order to produce offspring."

Transition from hypothesis to dictum[edit | edit source]

The Kuuldent dictum was originally considered a hypothesis, but substantial amounts of evidence have elevated its credibility to a dictum. Nonetheless, it is still not substantially-backed enough to be considered a law.

Controversy[edit | edit source]

The Kuuldent dictum is immensely controversial, and is both attacked and defended with great elan and vigour.

Attackers of the Kuuldent picture are often more traditional or religious individuals. Primarily, they defend the so-called Borost:Kelian picture, that the goal of life is the service and imitation of Kel. They are wary that, under the definition of the Kuuldent dictum, the whole goal of their life could be summarized by consuming resources, excreting waste, and producing offspring.

Defenders of the Kuuldent picture are often related with the academy or the sciences, and are generally areligious or even anti-religious.

Kelian-Kuuldentian compatibilism[edit | edit source]

Some assert that the Kelian picture and the Kuuldent dictum are compatible. Nonetheless, further research is being conducted in this area by both theologians and scientists.
