The Scholars of the Abyss are a defunct Borostím religious organization dedicated to the study of the Abyss.

The Scholars of the Abyss remain quite active. In fact, a substantial amount of the less-religious Dwaerkar academia have become associates of the research society, and much research has been performed to acquire a better understanding of the Abyss in defiance of the Fatherhood. For obvious purposes, this implies that the Scholars of the Abyss are an extremely secretive society, and operate under the strictest vows of secrecy.
