Borost:Skeleton of the World
The Skeleton of the World is a general term that refers to the fundamental laws and principles by which the universe abides. Although it is often related with Magic and magical principles, this is, strictly speaking, not necessarily the case.
Historically, the majority of known cultures in the world have been known to assert that the Skeleton of the World is derivative of certain deities. In the case of the Dwaerkar, for example, this is the figure of Kel, while in classical Borostím religion this is the Borost:Old Gods.
Cosmic Law theory
Certain members of the Dwaerkar academia have argued that the Skeleton of the World is controlled by a set of Laws and Principles rather than deities. This is known as the Cosmic Law theory, which attempts to define the Skeleton of the World in relationship with its observed effects.
Critics, mainly those of religious fervor, have attacked Cosmic Law theory, claiming that it can only ever reflect constant conjunction, and never causation, for which reason it is impossible to truly verify that the Skeleton of the World operates by Cosmic Law theory.
Others have suggested that, based on the epistemological foundations of Cosmic Law theory, it is fully compatible with Religious belief. This argument, however, has also been the subject of severe scrutiny.
