Games:Minecraft dimension catalog (20w14infinite)
Version 20w14infinite of Minecraft has over two million types of dimension, which are parametrically generated.
Options and variants
These dimensions also vary according to other factors; for example, each dimension is also dependent on the world seed.
The option to create an "AMPLIFIED" world affects, at the very least, overworld-type additional dimensions, so this is an extra point of variance. These dimensions will generate as amplified versions of themselves, with more pronounced height differentials and tall peaks. The infinity snapshot was one of the last to support creation of amplified worlds.
The Superflat generator option does not affect additional dimensions.
World types
Classification of dimensions into types, besides the Easter Egg ones, is more or less arbitrary.
Easter Eggs
These have been put in by the Minecraft developers, made manually. They substitue unknown random dimensions which are no longer available due to this superimposition.
See Catalog of Easter Egg dimensions (Minecraft 20w14infinite).
Understandable Worlds
Custom designation for world types which aren't chaotic or crazy. These worlds can still look and feel quite different to the known main minecraft dimensions (Overworld, Nether and End) but they all have a "type" based on one of those three.
See Catalog of Understandable Worlds (Minecraft 20w14infinite).
Chaotic Worlds
These dimensions have a great amount of structures, lots of object blocks or many entities. Generally they are laggy and not aesthetically pleasing (unless you are into that sort of thing in particular).
See Catalog of Chaotic Worlds (Minecraft 20w14infinite).
Darkened Worlds
These worlds have an altered facet shader that makes one of the faces of the blocks (generally east, west, north or south) look completely black. Though this effect is mostly considered undesirable, such words can still have other, interesting properties.
See Catalog of Darkened Worlds (Minecraft 20w14infinite).
Crashing Worlds
The worlds in this list seem to crash for unknwon reasons, at least when tested on an amplified base. The crash doesn't seem related to performance problems. Crashing takes precedence over any other considerations for classification. Fortunately, crashing dimensions are rare (about 5%). Crashing does not occur immediately but rather during load, allowing you to quickly warp elsewhere to prevent the crash once you know it happens.
See Catalog of Crashing Worlds (Minecraft 20w14infinite).
