Helderen is a Dwaerkar freehold and region of Borost.

History[edit | edit source]

Geography[edit | edit source]

Politics[edit | edit source]

Helderen freehold is largely considered to be the second most influential of the Dwaerkar freeholds. The Administrator of Neudenaald, Wolik Korthodum, oversees the Council of Neudenaald, a pseudo-democratic body that presides over the city and the hold.

Helderen has secured ties with Bahyrst and Zuiderbaai to protect the commercial interests of the most important harbour in Borost. Behind closed doors, it is claimed this alliance was designed to counter the expansionism of Ouwestad, and is known as the Pact of the Three.

Economy[edit | edit source]

Neudenaald, the capital of Helderen, is the most important trading hub in the whole of the Dwaerkar realm, bringing in goods from Tirsos in the South and the other realms of the North.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

The Borostím population of Helderen is mostly located in the Halen peninsula, which is generally the closest to Tielsland the dark elves are allowed to settle. The rest of the hold, with the exception of the above settlements, is rather rural, with many Dwaerkar living in hill-farms and tending to numerous herds and flocks.
