Nephilim (Firmament)

From Bestiary of the Hypogriph

Template:Creature

Nephilims, sometimes given names such as half-angels or half-celestials, are the direct offspring of angels and mortals who blur the line between humanoids and outsiders. Their demonic counterparts are called Cambions.

Biology[edit | edit source]

Nephilims generally resemble highly perfected versions of their mortal parent's race, purified with angelic grace. They are born with natural affinity with angelic magics and tend to be far stronger, faster, tougher and longer-lived than common members of their species. The divine features of a Nephilim lessen with each generation that follows them, though the angelic purity in their bloodline may manifest generations later as a Rephaite.

Society[edit | edit source]

Culture[edit | edit source]

Nephilims are more closely related to their angelic forefathers than their mortal ancestors, though due to most angels being emphatic to mortals, they tend to be seen as paragons of goodness and as heroes to their local population. Most Nephilims embrace their angelic heritage and, in certain cases, find the means to reach the realm of Ziana in order to become true angels.

Religion[edit | edit source]

Due to their very strong angelic heritage, most Nephilims are inclined towards worship of the archangels.

Relations with other races[edit | edit source]

The birth of a Nephilim is often celebrated by most mortal races due to their angelic features. However, many Nephilims are subject to envy of others as a result of their heritage.
