Etymology[edit | edit source]
"Ouwestad" means the "City of Ouwe," a reference to Ouwe the Founder, the legendary figure who first brought the Dwaerkar to Borost.
The "Long Hand of Ouwestad" is a term used throughout Borost to describe Ouwestad's interference in what they consider to be local affairs.
History[edit | edit source]
Ouwestad, unlike any of the other Dwaerkar capitals, is unique in the fact that it was not established over an existing elven city.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Ouwestad is located atop the hills adjacent to the southeastern reaches of the Barends, and enjoys a temperate-mountainous climate perfectly suited to the Dwaer constitution. There is plentiful snow in the winter, and the summers are warm and enjoyable.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
Ouwestad is almost entirely populated by Dwaerkar.
Politics[edit | edit source]
Governance[edit | edit source]
The city is an absolute monarchy under the control of the Chief, although some amount of power over the city's affairs is devolved to a Council.
