Saz'giras is an archangel dedicated to the spheres of redemption, forgiveness and self-awareness.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Saz'giras is a tall, muscular humanoid with scorched red skin, two pairs of chipped and scarred horns and a pair of large, leathered wings held together by golden chains. He wears long white robes which hide numerous self-inflicted scars.
History[edit | edit source]
Saz'giras begun his existence not as an angel, but as a greater servant of the demon lord Druacath. It is said that, during a raid to the realm of Ziana, he confronted the angel Thea Nee'hara and threatened to strike her down, only for her to express pity for his existence. While the details of the encounter are unknown, Saz'giras eventually suffered a change of heart and betrayed his master, departing from Irkalla and ascending into the ranks of the archangels.
Realm[edit | edit source]
Saz'giras' realm is known as the Citadel of Penance, a dimly lit fortress where the archangel meditates on how to right the wrongs of his past.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Formerly a being of pure hatred and malice, Saz'giras is now noted for his patience and willingness to give a chance to those who show their sincerity. Traces of his former demonic presence yet exist in him, however; he is known for periodic outbursts of frenzied wrath, which he mitigates via self-flagellation. The culmination of his sins is represented by the chains around his wings; every time he earns the forgiveness for his past deeds, they loosen slightly. When these chains finally break, Saz'giras will be considered fully redeemed.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
Due to being a former demon, most archangels are distrustful of Saz'giras, something he does not blame them for. Thea Nee'hara is among his closest allies, as she encourages his quest for forgiveness and is said to have had a hand at causing his change of hear to begin with. All demon lords, but especially Druacath, see Saz'giras as among the greatest traitors of all demonkind, though the archangel makes an effort not to think of them.
Cult of Saz'giras[edit | edit source]
Saz'giras has no large organized following in Telamon, and is often discovered by individuals seeking redemption for their past misdeeds, leading the archangel to reach down to them personally. His followers work closely with those dedicated to finding and destroying demons, such as the cult of Aldirei. Like their deity, they are usually mistrusted, but work hard to prove their worth to their allies.
