Septentrion (Firmament)

From Bestiary of the Hypogriph

Septentrions are a unique race of giants that live in the extreme northern reaches of Natelar.

Biology[edit | edit source]

Septentrions are enormous, muscular humanoids that have ice-white skin and deathly blue eyes that can be seen through thick blizzards. They are often clad in bone armour that is from dragon origin. Most Septentrions are over seven and a half metres tall and weigh over five hundred kilograms. It is not known for how long Septentrions live for, although many believe that they are actually immortal beings.

Ecology[edit | edit source]

Septentrions exhibit an unusual societal structure, something of which has only been distantly observed over the course of history. They are typically silent beings and are known to build immense totem poles that are markers of worship. Due to their geographical isolation, it is rare for cross-culture contact with Septentrions. The northern isles of which the Septentrions live upon have never been traversed by a foreign culture, so it is not known as to whether Septentrions live in mass settlements or not.

Abilities[edit | edit source]

The presence of Septentrions bring extreme and biting cold, and blizzards that are known to stop and kill cattle in their tracks. As a result, Septentrions are inherently magical beings and down to their size, possess gargantuan physical strength and durability. Some sparing observations of the Septentrions recall them being able to manipulate ice structures with hand gestures.
