Shihe

From Bestiary of the Hypogriph

Template:Deity

Shihe is the Elven goddess of slavery, despair and terror, who is a member of the Elven Pantheon.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

The Mirselen portray Shihe as a gruesome being resemble a tall, imposing Dark Elf woman from the waist up, and a deformed cockroach from the waist down. It is said she has two pairs of wings made of bone, with membraces made up of screaming faces.

History[edit | edit source]

Before the fracturing of Elven culture, Shihe was a goddess of night and shadows. Forsaken by all but the Dark Elves, she has been corrupted into a violent goddess of fear and terror.

Realm[edit | edit source]

The Elven Pantheon lives in the Drassalion, a tumultuous realm located in the Space In-Between where the Gods of Light constantly battle the Gods of Shadow for authority over the Elven race.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Shihe embodies the Dark Elves' specieism above all other gods, and believed all so-called lesser races must be brought to heel and reduced to slaves. She orders her followers to crush all hope of their captives, and demands them to cause as much fear as they can to burn her image into their minds, forever reminding them of who they should be afraid of and why.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Shihe is a sibling of the other Dark Elven gods and a servant of Sethneas. She has no contact with deities outside of her pantheon.

Cult of Shihe[edit | edit source]

Shihe' branch of the Cult of Bloody Murder deals with matters relating to Mirseleth's many thousands of slaves, with her priests often also being slavemasters in charge of torturing the more rebellious among their 'cattle'. The druidic order known as the Masters of the Black Wood dedicate themselves to Shihe by enslaving wildlife and sentient plant-like beings like treants into servitude to the Dark Elves.

The Wood Elves continue worshipping Shihe's original incarnation, but the goddess no longer pays them any heed.
