Umberien
Umberien is the current elemental lord of earth.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
The Brown Goddess is a gigantic humanoid made up entirely of stone, gems and precious metals, with small legs supported by large arms, causing her to generally move in a quadrupedal stance. Her eyes are a collection of sixteen enormous amethysts spread across her asymmetrical head, which is adorned with emerald, ruby, sapphire and diamond horns.
History[edit | edit source]
Umberien's rise to divinity begun when she was a young Earth Elemental who was adopted by her predecessor after he saved her from being devoured by a Crystal Wyrm. The elemental lord grew deeply fond of Umberien, until the day he was gravely wounded in a battle against the concurrent lord of the Plane of Fire. Seeing her as a worthy successor, the lord granted his spark of divinity to Umberien, ascending her into demigodhood and merging his wounded body with hers.
Realm[edit | edit source]
Umberien is the ruler of the Plane of Earth, a realm of cavernous depths with impossibly massive caverns and veins of stone, metal and gems.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Umberien is a stern, stoic and deeply patient creature, much like most other inhabitants of her domain, and she constantly travels through it to ensure its protection from outsiders. While it is difficult to earn her trust, she is among the more approachable of the elemental lords, for she is willing to lend an ear to planar travelers should the matter be of her interest.
Relationships[edit | edit source]
The Earth Mother holds a deep grudge against the inhabitants of the Plane of Fire and their leader, now Vulcardentron, for the death of her adoptive father. However, she retains a defensive stance on the matter, believing the fire elementals will throw themselves to their deaths by her hand. She prefers to leave Tritonomarth and Constarnach alone unless they provoke her.
Umberien often interacts with Voniana Theevrolde, who she sees as harmless, but incredibly annoying. She has no strong feelings towards non-elemental gods of earth, believing herself to be too busy to care for such "trivial" matters. The Brown Goddess holds great suspicion towards Skasdrumri, for he allegedly owes her realm something very important.
Cult of Umberien[edit | edit source]
Umberien is worshiped as the patron of all inhabitants of the Plane of Earth.
In Telamon, spellcasters who dedicate themselves to earth-based magic may hold allegiance to Umberien. She is known to have a significant following among the Gnome race due to their links to her home plane.
